What are the delimiters for typing in hierarchical keywords?
How do you manually type in multiple keywords so they are added to an existing keyword hierarchy rather than being concatenated into a new and unwanted keyword? Is it some sort of delimiter character?
Use either the pipe “|” or the greater than “>” symbol, depending on which way round you want to type:
- “|” would be in you want to enter GrandParent | Parent | Child
- “>” would be in you want to enter Child > Parent > GrandParent
Hi
I use the > regularly but was not aware of the pipe.
Have you found out whether it is at all possible to use delimiters in quick keyword sets? Whenever I try to have a quick set with multiple keywords, separated by commas thusly “keyword1, keyword2” they are treated as a single, long keyword.
I don’t think I ever use the pipe – > seems natural.
As for keyword sets, no, you’d need to add those extra keywords as synonyms, but that may not be suitable. It’s sad really, because keyword sets are a good idea and could be much better.
Regarding keyword sets – could be much better indeed! only NINE keywords allowed in a set?? Huh? Why?
It’s because of the Alt + Numbers shortcut. Numbers go 0-9, and a 3×3 grid. It obviously doesn’t make sense if one is happy to use the mouse.
