FTP directly from Lightroom
Can I upload files from Lightroom by FTP?
Yes, the Lightroom SDK contains an FTP plug-in which works perfectly well. From the sample files, file the folder “ftp_upload.lrdevplugin” and put it somewhere on your system (I keep plug-ins in a folder on Dropbox so I can access them from various computers). Install the plug-in and then do an export. Choose FTP Upload in LR’s Export dialog box, and point to the FTP Server or create an FTP preset and select it.
This free plug-in does the job so well for most people that at least one unscrupulous preset site rebadged it and asked money for it! I just wish Adobe would simply add this plug-in to the standard Lightroom installation.
I would like to speak to you about developing some lightroom plugins for us. Please contact me if you are interested in this type of work.
anyone have any ideas on how one might do this with FTP certificate authentication, instead of user name and password?
I would like to deliver multiple files to our FTP site via Lightroom, but need to compress them into a .zip file prior to upload to our FTP site. Is this easily accomplished in LR with this plugin or do I just need to use Fetch still?
I don’t know of anything that zips files before FTP, so I think you’ll have to continue with Fetch
Thanks, John.
Really useful.

Hi John,
i think you have to try this…

(I used it already!)
Absolutely not. That is actually the Lightroom SDK plugin. That is the “unscrupulous preset site” whose owner admits that he ripped it off.
John, can you go more into details please ? Once downloaded, what do you do ?
Ben, I’ve added some more info and replaced the screenshot with one that I hope is now useful
Where do I find this plugin please? I’ve trawled the net for it.
You just need to follow the link in this post and download the SDK. The plug-in is included, and you don’t have to do anything more than install it.
