Lightroom 4 Layout Overlay Options
Perhaps like most people I really hate the sound of my own voice, but some things are probably much easier to show than they are to describe in words.

Hi John, how can i save / export the image after i overlay it, and the writing still be on the image?
That’s not really what it is for, Ralu. It’s very much designed for tethering, letting the photographer get the photo that can then be handed on to the people doing the compositing and magazine/ad layout.
You can try doing something in Export or in Print, using the overlay png as watermark.
Thank you for the video. I have Lightroom 4 but don’t seem to have a Layout overlay option in the view menu. Do I need a plug-in?

No plugin. Make sure you have the latest version of Lr4 (I have 4.4 on mine) and ensure you are in Library. Then it’s View > Layout Overlay.
In Lr5, the menu name changed to View > Loupe Overlay.
Hi John I have just checked and my version is Lightroom 4.4.1.
I must not have been in Library module. Have just had another look and it is there.
Thanks for your help!

That’s a well hidden feature – but very useful. Thanks….
