MacBookPro M4 test
I wanted to test LR’s GPU export options with the new MacBookPro M4. The export sample was 312 48mb Fuji raw files (with lots of LR adjustments) exported as 2048 pixel JPEGs, and the results were interesting.
First I exported with the default “Auto” setting (ie not using GPU for export) and then I tried again with it set up like on the right.
The initial default GPU-off “Auto” completed in 375 seconds. Enabling GPU for export, it was all done in 215.
Not quite half the time, but a more-than-40% timesaving. More than interesting – rather useful I’d say!
